Description
A significant fact is associated with the Ancient Agora; more than 400 recent buildings were demolished in order to reveal the ancient structures underneath. That was the core place where all the administrative, political, judicial, commercial, social and religious activities were practised. Edifices of major importance are the Stoa of Attalos, which houses the Museum of Ancient Agora today, the temple of Hephaestus, the Tholos, and the Library of Hadrian.
