Description
This prestigious castle was built in the same place as the ancient Acropolis. Situated in the same site there was a Byzantine fortress built around 1030AD. After the 4th Crusade, the Lombard Baron Ravano dalle Carceri took charge and built the castle, following the Frankish standards of fortification in architectural construction. The castle is named Redcastle owing to the ruddy hue of its erecting stones.
