Description
The hill of Philopappos, named also as Hill of the Muses (its ancient name) is located opposite of the Acropolis. The burial monument on its top, was built by the Athenians in 114-116 AD to honour Gaius Julius Antiochus Philopappos, exiled ruler of Syria and Athenian citizen with great political and religious axioms. Today, Athenias enjoy both, a relaxed ramble and a stunning view of modern districts of Athens.
